Sometimes we need to release instead of holding on.  Have you ever felt like you were so busy trying to find a solution to a problem that you forgot what the problem was in the first place? These types of reactions cause our bodies, minds, and spirits to become unbalanced and stressed.

Laughter is one of our greatest weapons against stress. When you laugh, it relieves stress and releases your inner child.  Laughter is a mood enhancer and allows you to stop taking things so seriously.  Imagine a mood enhancer without the pills, drinks or whatever your vice is.  Hey, it might be a  walk by the lake,  just know there are better ways to deal with stress.

There are many benefits to Laughter; it can bridge gaps between people.  It allows that uncomfortable feeling to be released and connection to take place.  It boosts energy levels and allows the body to relax.  Did you know that research has shown Laughter to increase resistance to pain?  Just thinking about that makes me want to watch my favorite comedy right now.

Laugher release feel-good hormones called endorphins; I call them feel-good chemicals that help to regulate moods.  Wouldn’t it be good if we could laugh all the time?  Imagine how much stress you could release and people won’t always ask you, “What’s wrong” or “Why are you frowning.”

Proverbs 15:13

A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed.

Remember this the next time you are feeling down, upset or the stress monster is paying you a little visit.  A little laughter is good for the soul.

Next time you find yourself in a stressful situation ask yourself:

How important is this situation at hand?

What will it feel like to release the stress?

What would happen if I LAUGHED OUT LOUD right now?

Go ahead and LAUGH! What do you have to lose except a little tension and stress?
